Milk, anyone?

Milk, anyone?

Glass wax, Acrylic paint and water

Further inspired from my udders leaking blood, this relates in a similar way. I had the idea to fill up glasses with ‘milk’ and include that gory blood effect that ties in nicely with the udder sculpture. I want to keep emphasising on the fact that milk that is sold to humans is not what they think it is. Making it clear that most of the time blood and bacteria are washed out with bleach to make it look nice for human consumption. I stuck a sticker saying ‘handle with care’ onto both bottles as I find it ironic to handle it with good intention when the animals have no experience of this. If only they were handled with care. I further wanted to incorporate the phrase “animals were harmed in the making”. This is usually because all places state that the animals were not harmed in the making, however in this industry many animals are. Many times, people who buy these products forget or ignore that a living being has gone through agony to provide this ‘necessity’.  Continuing with the blood idea I added a small amount of red ink into the glass to make it look as if there has been blood mixed in. It did go slightly pink, but it would have been more appropriate if darker to match the blood on the outside of the glass.
