Would you like some milk with that?
Latex and glass wax
This artwork is inspired by the abuse and torture that dairy cows endure on a daily basis. Constantly being milked by a machine, being forced to produce more than double the amount cows naturally do in a day. This neglectful cycle results in bruised and inflamed udders and teats. Cuts, sores, and cysts all because they are continuously pumped, like a machine. I created an 8ft sculpture to emphasise on the size of actual udders due to over milking.
Not only did I want to portray this, but also highlight that the milk you buy in supermarkets isn’t naturally that white colour. The amount of blood and puss and other bacteria that is naturally drawn from a cow gets bleached out. So, imagine drinking your milk now knowing its bleached of all the bacteria and blood. Does that make you reconsider your choices?
